Community Education Sessions
SHFPACT can deliver tailored health promotion and education sessions to specific groups of interested participants. In the past we have worked with organisations in the ACT to deliver education and health promotion sessions that consider the specific needs of the participants whether they be cultural, linguistic, age, ability, informational (where a specific topic needs to be addressed) or any other factor that may help shape the delivery for the best outcomes. SoSAFE Training Program
SoSAFE! is a set of visual and conceptual tools designed to promote social safety to clients with an Intellectual Disability (moderate to severe range) and Autism Spectrum Disorder. SoSAFE! tools promote social safety through the provision of a simplified and rule-governed model of social reality that teaches the type and degree of verbal and physical intimacy appropriate with different categories of people. For more information please see the SoSAFE training information.
Health Promotion Activities
SHFPACT sees health promotion as an integral part of the improving the sexual and reproductive health outcomes of the ACT community. Health promotion is a way of thinking about empowering individuals, couples, families and communities to take more control over the factors that affect and determine their health and wellbeing. Sexual health promotion involves a range of actions to create an environment that promotes reproductive and sexual health and wellbeing in the Canberra community. SHFPACT works with a range of community partners (see our Projects section) to deliver activities together that achieve this aim.
Community events
Where feasible SHFPACT can provide an information stall or other services that promote SHFPACT and the work we provide.
