Sexual Health and Family Planning ACT were proud to be part of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia . On the 19th of May, under a clear autumn sky Safe Schools Coalition ACT member schools celebrated IDAHOT day by building an 18 panel rainbow installation at the ACT legislative assembly forecourt.
Each member school and Safe Schools Coalition ACT partner organisation decorated a canvas with an allocated colour which, when joined together, created a beautiful patchwork rainbow installation.
Delegates were very excited by a surprise visit from ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr MLA, ACT Community Services Minister Yvette Berry MLA, and Shadow Minister for Education Steve Doszpot MLA, who dropped by to hear about the wonderful projects students are leading in their schools. Minister Berry also assists the Chief Minister on Social Inclusion and Equality.
